They have appalling customer service, and there is no way to reach them other than through this appalling and ineffective department. So if you have an issue, like me, you may never get a response. Even calling their head office takes you to a voicemail which directs you to the same appalling service. I used to love their brand, but they clearly don’t care about their customers. They are not knowledgeable about their products, they do not respond in a timely manner, if they respond at all, and they don’t care about disappointing their customers. I had enquired about a necklace in their sale that I was interested in buying to match one of their bracelets I just bought, and asked what it was made of. One of their ‘representatives’ replied it was made of sequins and had a leather backing. Looking at the necklace in question, that was made of three beads and a thin gold chain, it was obvious there was no leather backing and no sequins. But this representative kept arguing with me that there were. I kept saying it didn’t make sense, where were these sequins and backing? After several rounds of this person arguing I finally sent them a picture of the necklace in question. At that point it should have become blindingly obvious there weren’t any, but still this person argued and said they would have to send it to their ‘team’ to confirm. ‘Hang tight’ they said. So I ‘hung tight’ and didn’t hear anything back until the following day when this representative said ‘they’re no longer for sale anyway’! No apology for the delay, no apology for their incompetence, and no attempt at making right the fact that their lack of knowledge in their own product, their inability to just look at a necklace a customer is enquiring about, and their inability to make a determination once they saw the necklace, all resulted in a customer losing the opportunity to make a purchase. I told her how disappointed I was in their service and her reply was to say ‘I’ll be sure to let the team know’. But my issue wasn’t with the team, it was with her. So I wrote to their head of customer service Dept and complained about this person and the service I received, or lack of service. I received a standard acknowledgment that I would hear back within 48 hrs, but that was almost a week ago and I’ve heard nothing. So I sent it again. Still nothing. To be honest I suspect my complaint was intercepted by the very dept I was complaining about, perhaps to protect this person. So I called their head office, and got an automated message. Guess where it directed me? Right back to their awful customer service Dept! So I now have nowhere to go. Imagine that’s a complaint about a product you just BOUGHT? That’s what you are up against to try to get any resolution. It’s a shame because I loved their brand until now, and have even been an advocate recommending particular pieces to friends. But not anymore. If this is how they treat their customers, I’d rather spend my money elsewhere. I have purchased many items from similar designers like NEST and Brinker & Eliza, and they both have exceptional customer service teams. They know their jewelry inside and out, are very professional, helpful, and truly want their customers to be happy. Mignonne Gavigan may make beautiful jewelry, it’s just a shame they do not have a good customer service team to back that up!
