I wanted to warn everyone about my experience on December 21st, 2024, at the Diamond Lovers Jewelry Store in the New Jersey Garden Mall. This experience started as something glamorous, in which we were greeted by two brothers from Egypt who claimed to be the owners. They began by offering us water bottles and fruit to entice us to see their collection of wedding rings. We continued to say to them that this was the first location we had come to have an experience and that we hoped to collect information that we could then go to other places and learn more about wedding bands and diamonds. At first, they claimed to agree and understand our approach. They continued to move us from area to area in hopes of getting us intrigued and interested in an item. As we continued to experience their approach, we also witnessed times when the owners rushed the female staff who had been working with us to not engage in conversation but to focus on making a sale. After a prolonged period, my fiancé and I set aside some rings to be provided at a price. Throughout this time, we asked for prices, and prices were denied. Towards the end, they gave us a very high collection price. They said yes when I asked if that was their final offer. I reminded them that we had instructed them from the beginning that we were collecting prices so that we could go with the bidder that we decided on. At that time, they became very oppositional and intimidating. They began to say words such as “we have been dedicating all this time to you in hopes that you would buy from us,” and they began to make us uncomfortable. My wife began to cry, and she said to them, “This is the first time that I am going out to get a wedding ring, and your behavior is making my experience a negative one. Please stop”. They continued to make their point very clear that this would be the lowest price they would give us, then began to lower it. At this point, my wife was anxious, and in response to her wellness, I told the Egyptian brothers I'm very sorry if we have misled you, but we will leave now. They continue to become agitated and verbalize words that would not be appreciated. So, I am writing this for all of you who may have also been victims of these two brothers from Egypt and their method of persuading you to shop from them. I wanted to share that we walked past Halzerg Diamonds Outlet shortly after leaving and met a very gentle man named Steve Talis. Steve was very gentle and delicate with us. Steve offered us an opportunity to sit, and he began to educate us on different diamonds and gold cuts, shapes, and differences between lab-grown diamonds and other diamonds. Despite the time that Steve dedicated to us and offered us water bottles, what intrigued us the most was Steve's good manners and gentleness. We also told Steve we would shop at other locations, and his behavior was encouraging. He insisted that we shop around, and then he confidently stated I also would like you to get the best opportunity available. My fiancé and I walked away and began to visit other locations; however, we began to experience negative experiences as those felt at Diamond Lovers with the two Egyptian brothers, who were very persistent, and their behavior made us uncomfortable. Being religious believers, we interpret this negative behavior as a sign that we do not want to welcome any merchandise from a negative experience. No matter the inconvenience that we experienced, we returned to Helzberg's Diamond Outlet and looked explicitly for Steve Talis. I shared my insecurities concerning the expense of buying the wedding bands, and he told me about a special plan I can qualify for. I am documenting this to create a file of good vendors concerned about the community's welfare. Starting a marriage and making the right choice began for us at Helzberg's Diamond Outlet when we met Steve Talis.
