My friend went with the same problem and they charged her way less than they quoted me. Then second time I went to get my necklace re stringed and she told me $25. The guy called me and said it’s ready for pickup and it’s $25. I went to to pick it up and has to pay $50. There’s cheaper jewelry repair places. If you go just make sure to pay first or ask to write price on receipt for proof
