BEWARE- if you shop this store online they have a 24 HOUR RETURN policy. So if you spent a few hundred dollars to give a gift and it doesn't suit them you are stuck with a store credit. Every other upscale jewelry store (think Chan Luu or Zoe Chicco, etc) has a 10-14 day return policy. Calling customer service was a mistake; Mary will just tell you that you are stupid for not reading their fine print.

Dandelion offers a range of services centered around its curated collection of handcrafted accessories and jewelry. While their primary focus is on sales, they also provide support for pieces purchased from their store.
Handcrafted Jewelry Sales: Dandelion provides a diverse selection of handcrafted accessories and jewelry sourced from various artists and communities globally. This includes pieces in different price points and materials, such as sterling silver, gold vermeil, and solid gold. Their collection spans earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings, offering a variety of styles from simple everyday wear to more statement pieces.
Ethically Sourced Items: The store emphasizes an affinity for "honestly sourced" accessories, indicating a commitment to ethical practices in their global sourcing efforts. This aligns with a growing consumer demand for responsible and transparent supply chains.
Permanent Jewelry: Dandelion offers permanent jewelry services, allowing customers to choose from a selection of bracelets, anklets, and necklaces in Sterling Silver and Gold Filled, which are then expertly welded on for a "forever-ish" look. Charms may also be available to add to these pieces. This service is typically available most days, with walk-ins welcome, though calling ahead to confirm availability is advised.
Jewelry Repair Service: Dandelion offers repair services exclusively for jewelry purchased from their stores or website. Each repair is considered on a case-by-case basis, and they cannot guarantee every item can be repaired. There is a minimum repair fee, and repair times can vary, typically taking 6-8 weeks. Customers are encouraged to bring items to a store location for evaluation, bringing all pieces, including pairs of earrings even if one is undamaged, and receipts if available.
Ring Resizing and Alterations: Ring resizing and other jewelry alterations are offered through their repair department, also on a case-by-case basis and only for jewelry purchased from Dandelion. Not all ring styles can be resized, or only within a certain range. Altered pieces, including resized rings, are considered final sale and are not eligible for exchange or store credit.
Single Earring Replacement: For some artists, Dandelion can facilitate the creation of a single earring to replace a lost one, provided the remaining earring is brought in for matching. If an artist does not offer this, they may be able to special order a new pair.
Gift Cards and Packaging: Dandelion offers gift cards, providing a flexible gifting option. Purchases often come with complimentary gift packaging, including woven natural pouches and evergreen boxes, which can be tagged with the recipient's name for a personal touch.
Dandelion distinguishes itself through several features that shape the customer experience, particularly for those in New Jersey seeking unique jewelry and gifts.
Curated, Global Collection: A significant highlight is Dandelion's focus on "hand-crafted accessories sourced honestly from around the globe." This commitment to global sourcing means customers can find distinctive pieces that often have a story behind them, providing an alternative to mass-produced jewelry. The store aims to provide visibility for new artists and help customers stay ahead of trends.
Diverse Price Points: Dandelion offers "nice things in all price points," making unique jewelry accessible to a wider range of budgets. This inclusivity allows customers to find anything from a small token to a more significant investment.
Family-Owned and Female-Fronted Business: As a family-owned and female-fronted business, Dandelion emphasizes building relationships with customers. This often translates to a more personal and community-oriented approach, fostering a sense of connection with their clientele.
Prime Princeton Location: Being situated in Palmer Square West in downtown Princeton offers a pleasant shopping environment. This allows customers to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere of Princeton, combining their jewelry search with other activities, and benefitting from the area's charm.
Permanent Jewelry Service: The inclusion of a permanent jewelry service offers a unique, trend-forward option for customers looking for a lasting and personal jewelry experience, providing a fun and memorable way to acquire a new piece.
Emphasis on Unique Artists and Designs: The store prides itself on providing visibility for new artists and offering styles that are "cutting edge of jewelry fashion," appealing to those who seek contemporary and unique designs rather than traditional or classic styles.
It is important for customers to be aware of the specific policies and customer service experiences that have been noted in reviews. While the store offers "nice things" and aims to support local business, some past customer feedback indicates potential challenges with clarity on material information and a strict return policy. Customers should verify material details at the time of purchase and be mindful of the stated 24-hour return policy for online purchases (or 14-day exchange/store credit for online orders).
Dandelion, like many retailers, periodically offers promotions and special offers. While specific deals can vary by season or event, it’s advisable for New Jersey customers to stay informed by checking directly with the store or their online platforms. Based on available information, here's what you might expect:
Free Standard Shipping: For online orders, Dandelion offers free standard shipping for orders over $100 within the USA (excluding AK & HI), providing convenience and cost savings for customers who prefer to shop from home.
Seasonal Sales and Trunk Shows: Dandelion has historically participated in seasonal sales events, such as a "Spring Sale" which included discounts on select collections both in-store and online. They also frequently host "Trunk Shows" featuring specific artists like Anne Sportun, Jamie Joseph, Julie Vos, and Adel Chefridi. These events provide opportunities to discover unique pieces and sometimes include special pricing or limited-time collections.
In-Store Promotions: Shoppers visiting the physical location in Palmer Square might find in-store specific promotions or featured collections. Checking their website or calling ahead can provide details on current in-store deals.
Gift Packaging: While not a discount, Dandelion offers complimentary gift packaging with purchases, including woven natural pouches and evergreen boxes, which can be tagged with the recipient's name. This adds value, especially for those buying gifts.
Online Coupons/Promo Codes: Although these can change, Dandelion's online presence suggests they occasionally offer promo codes for various discounts, sometimes ranging from a percentage off to specific dollar amounts. Customers can often find these by searching for Dandelion Jewelry coupons online, though terms and validity should always be checked.
It is highly recommended that customers contact Dandelion directly via phone or visit their Princeton location to inquire about the most current and upcoming promotions or special events. This will ensure you have the most accurate information to make the most of your shopping experience.

For New Jersey residents, Dandelion in Princeton offers a compelling option for those seeking jewelry that goes beyond the conventional. Its suitability for locals lies in several key aspects, though prospective customers should also be aware of considerations drawn from feedback.
Firstly, the store's prime location in Palmer Square, Princeton, makes it incredibly accessible and a delightful destination. Residents from Mercer County and beyond can easily visit, enjoying not just the shopping experience but also the vibrant atmosphere of one of New Jersey's most picturesque towns. This convenient access means that finding a unique piece or a special gift can be part of a larger, enjoyable outing.
Secondly, Dandelion's distinct focus on "hand-crafted accessories sourced honestly from around the globe" provides a refreshing alternative to mass-produced jewelry. For New Jersey locals who value individuality, artistry, and ethical sourcing, Dandelion offers a curated selection that supports diverse artists and communities. This aligns with a growing desire for meaningful and unique items that tell a story. The inclusion of modern services like permanent jewelry also caters to contemporary trends and offers a fresh, interactive way to acquire jewelry.
However, it's crucial for New Jersey customers to note the feedback regarding Dandelion's policies and consistency in information. While the store offers "nice things in all price points" and aims for a positive experience, issues with a strict return policy for online purchases (24-hour window for refund, then store credit) and occasional inconsistencies in product information (e.g., material descriptions) have been reported. This means local customers should be proactive: carefully review return policies for both in-store and online purchases, and directly confirm material details with sales associates before making a decision. Despite these points, for those who appreciate a unique, globally-sourced collection and are prepared to engage proactively regarding policies, Dandelion remains a suitable local business. Its commitment to offering distinct pieces and supporting new artists provides a valuable addition to New Jersey's diverse retail landscape, particularly for those looking for something truly special in the heart of Princeton.

Jan 18, 2025 · Pamela K.I have mixed feelings about the store. They have nice things in all price points and I like supporting local business. I came in and bought some earrings. The sales woman told me that they were 24 karat gold over brass, and I came back a few days later during the same week to buy a different pair under the same designer & another sales person told me it was jewelers metal. This sales person was also pushy and tried to tell me what to buy and I also felt rushed to ring me up even when it wasn’t closing time yet. I may just buy online to get more accurate information about what I’m buying.
